Filler treatments

Filler treatments moisturize the skin and fade signs of aging. While many beauty products only moisturize the surface of your skin, filler treatments deeply moisturize your skin from the inside. Filler treatments can smooth out moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles, and modify facial features, such as filling lips or shaping the nose*, chin or cheekbones. If desired, the results can be maintained with repeat treatments, which are done every 3-24 months, depending on the product used.

*However, we do not recommend shaping the nose with fillers, because vital blood vessels pass through the nose area to the brain and the risks of complications are too great.

The active ingredient of fillers is hyaluronic acid. The skin naturally contains hyaluronic acid, but with aging, the production of hyaluronic acid decreases, which causes the skin to dry out and age. Hyaluronic acid binds moisture well, which makes it a particularly good ingredient for filler treatments.

The duration of the effects of filler treatment varies between the products used. The customer's age, lifestyle, general condition and skin also affect the duration of the treatment result. Typically, the result of filler treatment lasts from a few months to a year. Follow-up treatments increase the permanence of the filler, so the treatment results last longer and typically less filler is needed in the following treatments.

How much filler is needed and how much does the filler treatment cost?

The price of filler treatment is determined by the filler used and its quantity. There are differences in filler preparations between their composition, duration and purpose of use. The required amount of filler is affected by the desired end result, the client's skin and age, and the area to be treated. With just one milliliter of filler, a visible change can often be achieved. However, if your wishes are for a more radical change, or the area to be treated is larger, more filler may be needed.

Who can administer filler treatments and are filler treatments safe?

Currently, there are no regulations on who can administer filler treatments, but manufacturers often specify that only a healthcare professional can perform the treatments. The author is responsible for following the instructions.

Are filler treatments suitable for me and what should I consider before the treatment?

Before performing the filler treatment, a nurse specializing in the treatment goes over the possible obstacles and reactions and risks to the procedure with you using a pre-information form. Before the treatment, the nurse maps your health condition and your wishes regarding the treatment, and also goes over the aftercare instructions with you. There is always a risk of complications with filler treatments, some of which may require medical treatment.

Obstacles to filler treatments:

  • Certain diseases
  • Certain medications, e.g. permanent medication affecting blood clotting.
  • Flu or other respiratory infection
  • The skin is damaged in the treated area (wound, bruise, bad rash, etc.)

If you have been diagnosed with a disease, or are taking medication, please always check with your doctor before treatment that the treatment is suitable for you.

Other things to consider before filler treatment

Avoid 1-2 weeks before treatment and immediately after treatment anti-inflammatory drugs such as acetylsalicylic acid or ibuprofen (Aspirin, Disperin, Burana), Omega-3 / fish oil preparations, vitamin E and natural products, which can increase the appearance of bruising or bleeding at the injection site.

If the treated area has previously undergone an aesthetic procedure, laser treatment, etc. intensive care, please confirm with your nurse when it is safe for you to have the next aesthetic procedure.

In particular, injection treatments on the lips and mouth area can trigger whooping cough (herpes). If you have previously had herpes on the face, we recommend preventive herpes medication on the day of treatment.

Some of the products and anesthetics used contain lidocaine, which can give a positive result in doping tests.

Progress of filler treatment

Before the filler treatment, the nurse consults the client either before the treatment with a separate consultation or during the treatment. In the consultation with the client, his wishes and needs are discussed and the client's health condition is mapped. In connection with the consultation, the nurse also tells about the possible risks and reactions of the treatment, and goes over the obstacles to the treatment and the aftercare instructions with the client. Finally, the customer signs a liability release form and a photo is taken of the treated area.

At the beginning of the filler treatment, the skin is carefully cleaned and anesthetized if the customer so wishes. The filler is injected into the skin in small amounts with a very thin needle or cannula, after which the filler is smoothed out by pressing the skin with the fingers.

Does filler treatment hurt?

Pain is always individual. Typically, the most painful treatment area is the lip area with a lot of nerve endings. On the other hand, filler treatments in other areas are almost painless. An anesthetic cream can be used for pain relief. In addition, some filler products contain an anesthetic, which makes the treatment more pleasant.

Hyaluron Pen

The most popular needle-free filler treatment in the world!

The Hyaluron Pen is a pen-shaped tool that uses air pressure to release hyaluronic acid into the surface layer of the skin. Hyaluronic acid products are 100% biodegradable and CE approved.

Hyaluron Pen makes it possible to do filler treatments in a completely new way without needles, injection-free and painless!

Using the Hyaluron Pen tool, hyaluronic acid is delivered to the papillary dermis layer of the skin, where collagen is also located. The filler is launched through a tiny microscopic opening that is half as thin as the injection needle used in acupuncture treatments. The treatment is almost painless for the client. If the customer is very sensitive to pain, he can get an anesthetic himself and put it on the treated area.

Hyaluronic acid binds water a thousand times compared to its own size. Thanks to it, the skin will look smoother, more elastic and supple after the treatment. The shape of the lips can be corrected, made fuller, and at the same time the end result is very natural. Hyaluronic acid is thin in composition and its molecular size is small. Thanks to the Hyaluron Pen device, the thin filler spreads evenly on the skin and the skin area to be filled becomes soft, flexible and natural-looking.

The Hyaluron Pen treatment can also be used to successfully fill superficial and medium-deep lines, such as scars, smile and forehead wrinkles. Filling and smoothing lines with hyaluronic acid makes the skin smoother, more elastic and more youthful looking.
Filling deep lines with fillers used in Hyaluron Pen treatment is not completely successful.
